Sirius Thoth (pronounced "serious thought") refers to Sirius, the dog star, and Thoth, the ancient Egyptian scribe of the Gods. Sirius is the brightest star in our sky and was worshipped in ancient Egypt as the bringer of the Nile flood and associated with the Goddess Isis. Thoth is the Egyptian equivalent of Mercury or Hermes and the patron God of writers.
