Chiron

Chiron is an object in orbit around the Sun between Saturn and Uranus. It is not a planet, and it is not an asteroid. I like to call it a planetoid. There is some controversy about what it is, exactly, and it may even be a visitor from outside our solar system. Many modern astrologers include Chiron in charts.

In Greek mythology, Chiron the centaur was the wounded healer. Wounded by a poisoned arrow, he was unable to find a cure for his pain, but being immortal, he was unable to die. His experimentation with herbs and medicines in an effort to heal his own pain enabled him to become a great healer of others.

Where Chiron is in our birth charts we find issues of wounding and healing. Chiron transits can cause wounding to ourselves or others, or allow us to heal ourselves or others. Chiron is associated with the signs Sagittarius the centaur, and Virgo, which is a sign that has a lot to do with health.
