USA Presidential Election 2000 - Mercury Retrograde in Scorpio

The election for President of the United States of America in the year 2000 took place during a Mercury Retrograde. The retrograde occured from October 18, 2000 to November 7, 2000 - election day. The result was miscommunication, chaos, and confusion. This is because Mercury rules the mind and communication, and during a Mercury retrograde, our minds and communication just don't function that well when dealing with external realities, because they are focused on internal processes.

Some examples:

1. Thousands of voters in Florida became confused by a ballot which did not communicate clearly which hole to punch for a particular candidate. Since the retrograde ended, I've heard lots of people saying that the ballot didn't look that confusing, and they could have figured it out. Well, yes! You can figure it out now that Mercury is direct. But you should have tried it on election day!

2. Things done during a retrograde often have to be redone later. Votes in Florida have had to be recounted multiple times, and there is even talk of a revote.

3. The Mercury retrograde was in Scorpio. Scorpio has to do with things that are hidden. Lots of hidden votes have been found after the election. Also, due to the hidden nature of Scorpio, don't be too surprised if it's later proven that there was fraud in this election.

What's good about this?

The great thing about all this is that now we, as a nation, are going to review the voting process. "Review" is a mercury retrograde keyword, by the way. We could get more modern voting methods that discourage fraud and promote more accurate counts as a result. This is a goal that everyone from all parties should be able to agree on. We will also review the electoral college process to see whether or not it is still appropriate in the modern era. This is all very promising for our democracy, and is brought to you by Mercury retrograde!
