Saturn

Saturn

Saturn governs restriction, discipline, form, and structure. Where Jupiter expands, Saturn contracts. Saturn can make life very difficult at times. Saturn is a Roman god of corn, and he is associated also with his Greek counterpart, Kronos.

Saturn is the personality ruler of the sign Capricorn.

Saturn is the sixth planet from the sun. It takes Saturn about 28 years to travel through all the signs of the zodiac. Saturn spends about two or three years in each sign.

Where Saturn is placed in your birth chart, by sign and house, indicates your ability for self-discipline and creating structure. You may also experience difficulty in the area of life indicated by the placement of Saturn.

When Saturn transits same part of your chart where it was located at the time of your birth, it is called a Saturn return. This happens to everyone sometime around the age of 28, and again around the age of 56 (give or take a year or so). If you live long, you will experience a third Saturn return at about the age of 84.

A Saturn return can be a very difficult transit, but the result will be greater maturity. We are often not taken seriously as adults until we experience our first Saturn return.
