Signs of the Zodiac

Following is a table showing the twelve signs of the zodiac. Zodiac is a Greek word meaning "circle of animals" (think "zoo").

Most people don't realize that everyone's birth chart contains all twelve signs. Some are more strongly expressed than others, depending on the individual's planetary and house placements, but they are all there. This is a good thing to keep in mind when you're looking through the signs.

	Aries, the ram, is a cardinal fire sign. Aries is ruled by Mars.
	Taurus, the bull, is a fixed earth sign. Taurus is ruled by Venus.
	Gemini, the twins, is a mutable air sign. Gemini is ruled by Mercury.
	Cancer, the crab, is a cardinal water sign. Cancer is ruled by the Moon.
	Leo, the lion, is a fixed fire sign. Leo is ruled by the Sun.
	Virgo, the virgin, is a mutable earth sign. Virgo is ruled by Mercury.
	Libra, the scales, is a cardinal air sign. Libra is ruled by Venus.
	Scorpio, the scorpion, is a fixed water sign. Scorpio is ruled by Pluto.
	Sagittarius, the archer, is a mutable fire sign. Sag is ruled by Jupiter.
	Capricorn, the goat, is a cardinal earth sign. Capricorn is ruled by Saturn.
	Aquarius, the water bearer, is a fixed air sign. Aquarius is ruled by Uranus.
	Pisces, the fish, is a mutable water sign. Pisces is ruled by Neptune.
