Transits

Transits are the movements of the planets in the sky.

It is the movements of the planets as time goes on (transits) that help you, and the rest of this planet, to evolve. Planetary transits cause events to occur on earth.

As the planets move through the signs, they activate the planetary energies in your natal chart when they aspect your natal planets. Energies in your natal chart can be activated when a major aspect occurs, or when a transiting planet passes through the same degree as a planet in your chart.

For example, Person A has Venus at 22 degrees Aries. The energy of Venus will be activated in that persons chart when Mars is at or near 22 degrees Aries (conjunction). The energy of Venus will also be activated when Saturn is at or near 22 degrees Sagittarius (trine). It will also be activated when Jupiter is exactly at 22 degrees Taurus - this is not a major aspect to 22 degrees Aries, but it is the same degree.

The effects of a transit will depend on what the transiting planet is, what sign it is in, what house it is in, as well as the planet, sign, and house it is contacting in the natal chart. So you can see that transits can be very complex - too complex to go into detail here.

When a transiting planet returns to the same sign and degree where it was located at your birth, we say it is a "return" of that planet. Saturn return is an infamous transit which first occurs when the person is about 28. This can be a difficult transit, but until you have your first Saturn return, most people will not take you seriously as an adult.
