Butterfly

I like this butterfly image because of its art nouveau lines. Can you guess what this object really is? I'll give you a hint. This photo was taken on a beach near Big Sur, California. I've always been interested in the effects of creating a mirror image with photos. Mirror imaging part or all of a photograph often forms wholly unexpected and beautiful new shapes in the symmetries that are created. I used to do this sort of thing manually in the dark room when I took photography in college. I am pleased with the superior results and improved ease of doing things of this nature that I get when making digital art with Photoshop.
